New Features
What's Going On??

There are now over 100 partnerships using The Funding Project. So, we have added a "Google" style search that lets you find out about projects in your area and elsewhere.

This is a keyword search that looks for your word through the main text field of the problem Analysis and the Project/Action description.

The search is found from the “Search” item of the main menu.

You will see there are now two parts to the search screen. Part 1 is just the original search. You use it to find projects/actions where you already know the name of the manager, or the action number or the title.

Part 2 is new. Here you enter specific words or phrases (phrases need to be surrounded with double quotes. This example shows a search for “bicycle theft”. The exciting think is, that this is a live link with hundreds of other Community Safety staff. You are finding out about what other partnerships are doing TODAY, what works and what doesn't. And you can see who is working on those problems.

To the right of the screen, is the button that runs the search. There is a check box so you can restrict search to just your area, or un-check to extend the search outside your own area.

Managing Funds From Different Sources

The Funding Project was originally designed to manage fund streams managed through one source.

We now find that in LAA and LSP areas, the funding mainly comes through the LAA itself, but there can be some streams provided by the Government Office, or by the local council, or even by an external body such as a charity.

The Funding Project can now be set up so that any user in any office can be nominated as a fund manager, and allowed to manage their own fund stream (but not others). Managing many streams from different sources, all feeding into one action plan can be an administrative mightmare. With the new features, ALL the fund streams for a partnership can be monitored and tracked online in exactly the same way, with full accountability and audit trails.

LAA/LSP Programme Management

The Funding Project began with community safety partnerships. But we now find it is being used for other blocks of the LAA. In fact, any block of work in an LAA or LSP, or the whole LAA can be magaged in just the same way. To find out more, contact us on 0017 907 9921.

Safer Neightbourhood Teams

Funding Project performs online management of community partnerships, linking up people of different organisations who need to collaborate in delivering an action plan. That is exactly what we now have with the new police Safer Neighbourhood teams.

To help with this, we have added features that allow the SARA problem Solving model to be used with Neighbourhood teams, potentially linking dozens of teams and hundreds of police officers, PCSOs etc, wherever they are based.

Contact us for more details of this.

Coming Soon
Dashboard

In some areas, we have introduced a “Dashboard”

This is a screen that sits in between the logon and the main tree.

It gives an overview of your current situation.

You can use it to go directly to the projects or indicators for which you need to provide feedback, or to see a list of your outstanding tasks, without going through the tree.

We hope this will help to engage users who only need to use the system once in a while.

Task Manager

We will also be introducing the ability to add tasks to actions/responses.

You will be about to enter the task, and assign a deadline and a user who is responsible for completing that task.

That user will be alerted via the dashboard.
